All our control panels are connected to a high speed RS-485 Serial buss either daisy chained together or Stared out from some sort of centralized punch block.
With Navigator all the standard illuminated push button and rotary XY hardware remote control panels are completely programmable. That is, all the push buttons on all the control panels can be programmed for any function such as being inputs, or outputs, controlling different levels, multilevel salvos, OZ DSP functions, etc. It's all programmable. Now remote control panels can be as powerful, or as limited, as desired by the systems administrator for the operators. And all this can be reprogrammed at the Navigator PC with the click of a mouse.
