Each I/O module handles 32 audio signals. The AES
/ EBU audio Input and Outputs (16 per module, which equals 32 channels) are
available in several formats, BNC for 75 ohm, 25 pin "D" for
110 ohm or they are also available in several Fiber formats.
These modules do all the necessary processing for transferring
the digital audio data to and from the DSP core. This processing includes
all sample rate conversion and Synchronizing to either house master or
to the internal sync generator.
We can take an AES stream and split it into two
different audio channels. This allows you to send the left of an AES to
one output of the router and the right to another output, as well as
taking 2 mono analog inputs and combining them to 1 AES stream. Or you
can put
time code on 1 side of the AES and an audio source on the other. These
are only a few examples of what you can do with the horsepower built into
this router.
You can also take in the same frame and bring in
an Analog signal and rout it to an AES out and visa versa with just a
click of a mouse or the push of a button.
